Alignvest Management Corporation is a Toronto private investment firm founded in 2011 by Reza Satchu that invests a permanent pool of partner capital (grown from $30 million to over $200 million) and brings in institutional and wealthy co-investors alongside it, having invested more than $1.8 billion of outside capital to date. Rather than run a conventional fund, it incubates and builds platforms itself: its biggest recent outcome was Alignvest Student Housing REIT, Canada's largest purpose-built student housing owner, sold to Forum REIIF for about $1.7 billion in January 2025. Earlier it sponsored two SPACs (Trilogy International and Sagicor) and built EHN Canada and StorageNow. It is a small Toronto team whose leaders are closely tied to Canadian entrepreneurship programs such as NEXT Canada.
