Anson, which took a stake in late 2024, is pressing Lionsgate to put itself up for sale: in a July 2026 letter to the board, portfolio manager Sagar Gupta argued the studio must reposition for AI or be sold. Lionsgate was separately reported to have held sale talks with France's Bollore Group. No deal has been announced.
