Canadian Investment Bank
Bank of Montreal's North American-based investment banking, corporate banking and global markets business.

Reasons that work in interviews
4 reasons for BMO Capital Markets
The BMO Global Metals, Mining & Critical Minerals Conference is the largest in the world, so the mining franchise is a convening position, not just a league table rank.
Bank of the West gave the bank a California and US West footprint, which is a different US strategy from the New York-first approach of its peers.
Energy transition and critical minerals sit together here, which matters if you want metals exposure tied to decarbonisation rather than pure commodity cycles.
Mid-sized Canadian platform with genuine global product capability means deal teams stay lean while mandates stay large.

Summer Analyst · Toronto / Calgary
Fourteen-week internship placed on a single Global Markets desk (e.g. equity sales and trading, prime finance, DCM, leveraged finance, rates), with teach-ins, trading games and senior-leader networking.
Summer Analyst / Associate · Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver)
BMO's main Canadian summer intake, recruited February to June for the following summer's class. It runs across the three lines of business BMO hires analysts and associates into: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets. The full-time analyst and associate classes start in July and are drawn primarily from past summer interns, so this is the main route in.
Co-op · Canada
The off-cycle winter term, recruited September to October — a separate intake from the summer class and on its own timetable.
Co-op · Canada
The off-cycle fall term, recruited May to June alongside the tail of summer recruitment.
Full-time Analyst / Associate · Canada
Classes start in July and are primarily past summer interns. BMO recruits externally only where full-time seats remain, August to October, so this is a backstop rather than a parallel route.
