Reasons that work in interviews
4 reasons for CPP Investments
Office network across London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, San Francisco, New York, Sydney and São Paulo means geography is a real choice here rather than a Toronto seat with international deals.
The department structure (private equity, credit, real assets, active equities, sustainable energies) lets you specialise without changing employer.
Scale means co-underwriting alongside the largest global sponsors rather than taking allocations, which is a different seat from most Canadian funds.
The total portfolio approach is published in detail, so you can form a view on the investment framework before you interview and almost nobody does.
