Kinterra Capital Corp. is a Toronto-based private equity firm that buys controlling, project-level stakes in advanced and late-stage critical minerals projects, mainly copper and nickel, in low-risk jurisdictions, then de-risks and develops them. Co-founders Cheryl Brandon and Kamal Toor launched the first fund in November 2023 (US$565 million) and closed Fund II at its US$950 million hard cap in February 2026; the firm cites more than US$1.5 billion of AUM. Its portfolio is mostly U.S. copper (Pumpkin Hollow and the Southwest Open Pit in Nevada, White Pine in Michigan, Antler in Arizona) plus Quebec and Western Australian nickel. The team mixes investment professionals with mining engineers, geologists and metallurgists, which makes mining or mining-banking experience directly relevant; no student or analyst program is published on its careers page.

Kinterra, already holding 19.16% of New World, made a rival A$0.057 per share cash proposal against an agreed Central Asia Metals deal, won more than 90% under its takeover bid and moved to compulsory acquisition in August 2025. Completion of the roughly US$160 million deal was announced on 2025-10-27; it was Fund II's first acquisition.
