Point72 has a Toronto office at 1 Adelaide Street East, its only Canadian location on its official locations page. On 2026-10-01 its careers site listed Toronto as one of several possible locations for two Systematic Investing roles, Quantitative Researcher and Entry-Level Quantitative Researcher, which suggests the Canadian presence leans toward quantitative research. Point72 has published no opening date, Canadian legal entity, headcount or named Canadian leaders, so those are left blank.

BSO only shows numbers it can attribute to a published source.
The careers site listed Toronto as a possible location for Systematic Investing quantitative researcher roles, including an entry-level one, alongside London, Hong Kong, Paris, Sydney, Dubai and (for the entry-level role) Tokyo.

Reasons that work in interviews
4 reasons for Point72 (Canada)
Expect the real question underneath to be “why this strategy”, then “why this platform within it”. Have a view on long/short versus multi-manager versus event-driven before you have a view on the firm, and bring one idea you can defend.
The Academy is the reason: structured classroom training, rotations and mentorship rather than being put on a desk and expected to know what is going on.
Roughly half of Academy analysts come from non-business backgrounds, so the intake is genuinely varied and you are not competing on pedigree.
The firm wants you to keep your own approach rather than replace it: they teach a framework and then expect original ideas.
Most firms assume you arrive trained. Saying you want somewhere that actually invests in training you is honest and lands well here.

How juniors get in
In Toronto, Point72 hires only for its Cubist quant arm, including an entry-level quantitative researcher role open to new bachelor's graduates; its Academy analyst programs and internships are not offered in Toronto.
Green: evidence it does. Struck through: evidence it doesn’t. Dashed: no public evidence either way.

No sourced transactions, leadership profiles, people moves or recent coverage for this firm. BSO publishes a fact only once it can attribute it to a named source, so these stay off the page rather than being filled in from inference. If you know something published that belongs here, it is the fastest way to get it added.

The multi-manager platforms run structured, heavily contested summer programmes on an early global cycle, with classroom training and rotations rather than a single desk placement. BSO has not confirmed a timetable for Point72 (Canada) on an official page: this records that the intake exists and what the category's cycle looks like, not a published date. Confirm with the firm before you plan around it.
