Role overview
As an Analyst in Alvarez & Marsal's Investment Banking group in Toronto, you will gain experience in restructurings, M&A and financial advisory services, work across a variety of products and interact directly with clients. The role is intended to take on increasing responsibility as transaction-execution skills develop.
Responsibilities
- Participate in corporate finance assignments in a high-pressure environment.
- Prepare valuations, including comparable-company, discounted-cash-flow and sum-of-the-parts analyses.
- Produce qualitative and quantitative financial models and ensure materials are accurate, complete and well organized.
- Participate in client meetings, prepare pitch books and conduct business, industry and capital-markets research.
Qualifications
- At least one year of investment-banking experience at the financial-analyst level is required; two years is preferred.
- Understanding of, or experience in, distress/restructuring, capital raising and M&A.
- Bachelor's degree with a major in business, finance or accounting; CFA progress or completion is preferred.
- Demonstrated quantitative, analytical and modelling skills, strong written and oral communication, knowledge of capital markets and investment-banking products, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Bloomberg.
- Credit-analysis experience is an asset.
